THE DANCING CRANES CEREMONY
The largest convention and exhibition center in Indonesia is coming soon to PIK2, named Nusantara International Convention Exhibition or also known as NICE. On Saturday, September 28th 2024, “The Dancing Cranes” ceremony was held as a celebration to mark the start of the construction phase of the NICE project’s upper structure.
In his speech, Steven Kusumo, CEO of Agung Sedayu Group said, “The theme of this evening’s event – The Dancing Cranes is held as a symbol of the installation of 15 tower cranes at the project site, marking the start of work on the upper structure of the NICE mega project. NICE will become the largest convention and exhibition center in Indonesia and exactly one year from now, in September 2025, NICE is targeted to be ready to operate!”
This series of events was attended by Sugianto Kusuma as Founder & Chairman of Agung Sedayu Group as well as Richard Kusuma and Steven Kusumo as CEOs of Agung Sedayu Group, as well as Ryan Adrian as Director of Commercial Convention and Exhibition, along with the board of directors of Agung Sedayu Group. Also present, the Chief of the Republic of Indonesia Police – Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Si., Acting Governor of Banten – Dr. Al Muktabar, M.Sc., as well as Ambassadors from friendly countries.
“NICE is divided into three zones. Zone one is intended for concerts, zones two and three are for exhibitions and meetings,” said Sugianto Kusumo. NICE is a convention and exhibition center designed to support various MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) activities as stated by Sugianto Kusumo.
Miranda DWK as Advertising & Promotion Director of Agung Sedayu Group in her interview explained, “NICE is on a land of 40 Ha, the leasable area that can be rented is 120,000 m2,” she said.
On the same occasion, Ryan Adrian, Managing Director of PT Industri Pameran Nusantara, a strategic collaboration company between Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group which owns and manages NICE, said “We are not just constructing buildings or convention facilities, but it’s more than that. We are building Indonesia’s future as a leading destination in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) industry at a global level.” The existence of a green area is called the courtyard with an area of ±9,800 m2 called the garden area is one of NICE’s advantages, it can be enjoyed by visitors and adds a cool and green impression, not only that, there is also an outdoor area of ±1.3 Ha with a green feel. There is also a large and adequate parking area that can accommodate around ±7,100 vehicles.
This ceremonial event featured a Light Drone Show using 1500 drones and a stunning Light Show with 15 tower cranes that lit up the skyline along with celebrations at “The Dancing Cranes” ceremony. The magical moment of “The Dancing Cranes” was also publicly witnessed from Orange Groves with a very spectacular view.
